Project 3 - Balance and Contrast

Kaleidoscopes

Contrast in Texture
In this photo there is a clear contrast between the hairy grass and dirty brick. I edited the photo and increased the clarity to define the textures and their contrast more. I added a sepia tone to neutralize the photo with emphasis on the texture as opposed to their color.

Contrast in Value
I put this racquet into the shadow of the tennis net in order to get the contrast between the racquet and the dark lines of the shadow. I like the contrast of the dark squares of the shadow to the much smaller white squares of the racquet's strings.
Contrast in Scale
The contrast in this photo comes from the smaller girl further in the distance to her much bigger and longer shadow that trails behind her. This picture also shows contrast in value between her and the shadow. I mad this photo black and white to have the shadow at its darkest and make it the main focus of the image.

Diptych
In this diptych I used shallow depth of field in the second image in contrast to the birds eye view of the first photo. Too achieve the level of clarity in the foreground that I wanted, on the second image I went in and added clarity to the base of the racquet and blurred out the background to emphasis the depth of field that I wanted to achieve.

Diptych - Sheed in Motion
I wanted to show the contrast in motion between the first photo with the blurred lines of motion and the still motion of the second photo. I increased the exposure and reduced the contrast in the photo in order to add emphasis to the motion and blurred lines it he first photo and edited the second photo the same to add unity to the diptych.

Triptych-
Still trying to capture motion but different than the visible motion I compiled these three photos of my cousin with the wind blowing her hair. I captured the motion in a still photo and the motion is evident due to the difference between her hair in each photo as the wind blew it in several different directions.

Triptych- Braided
For this photo it was hard to really edit and adjust the image too much without it looking odd so instead of trying to alter the different lights and darks of the photo I adjusted the temperature to more of a blue to neutralize the photo and create a flow throughout them. In these three images the motion can be seen through the blurry subject.
