Project 3 - Portraits
In our portrait assignment we were also asked to shoot digital images with a more poetic context. With this series known as "The Trapped Voice of the Teen" it touches on the brink of adulthood in which we teens have a voice that is not quite old enough in the eyes of society to be heard and make an impact. The imagery of these photos conveys this message by having this plastic acting as the barrier of age and the screaming face of the youth can be seen behind it, the voice unable to be heard when it so clearly wants to be. Teens speaking out can be seen here in Portland throughout the many protests that have been going on, they're actively involved and advocating for what they believe in yet many are unable to vote.
